How It All Started
LOLLI DOLLIES ONLINE was initiated in Jan 2006 as a sister site to my successful eBay store, Lolli Dollies, which was established on ebay in Feb 2004, selling Sindy and other dolls. (Update: I closed my ebay store in March 08, as I can no longer condone some of the new ebay legislation, but still sell on ebay under the name "notanuvadolly").
I have always believed that doll collecting should be available to all, so I aim to keep my prices affordable, and fair in relation to the condition of the item. I named my first venture Lolli Dollies because it was very much a "suck it and see" project, and also because I intended to give a free lollipop away with every dressed doll sold, something I still do today.  However, I began to envisage running a website alongside and independent of eBay, in which I could sell even more dolls, clothes and accessories....

AN ONLINE DOLLY SHOP was a dream I had nurtured for some time, but having no experience of building a website - and no cash to pay someone to do it for me - I decided to do what I always do when I want something...bite the bullet and teach myself!
I wanted my site to reflect the fun aspect of doll collecting and also to convey some of my own personality, so designed my site from scratch using colours and formats that I thought my customers would enjoy.
Although Lolli Dollies Online deliberately retains a certain naivity, I am particularly proud of my fully-integrated shopping cart, which has superb functionality, enabling the shopper to select and checkout their items quickly and easily. (The retro music is a bit of kitsch fun - you can always turn your speakers off!) I run Lolli Dollies Online alone, with sanity control and photographic tips courtesy of my ever-patient husband. My workshop/office is at the top of our Georgian house overlooking Dover Harbour - the White Cliffs of Dover are literally in my back garden, so my dolls enjoy a superb view over the English Channel.  I am currently studying with the Open University and am also trying to write a novel and some short stories, when I can find the time!

Reputation and Product Quality
I ALWAYS TRY TO DESCRIBE my items as honestly as I can, given the knowledge I have and the research resources available to me. I try not to tie a doll's hair up, unless it is part of her original style (as in Space Fantasy Sindy, Masquerade Sindy, e.g.) as I prefer buyers to see that I am not hiding any dry ends or cut areas. In the rare instance that a purchase should fail to please, I am usually happy to consider a full refund (see Postage and Payments for more info). You will find that my prices are very competitive - try comparing my MIB dolls and MIP outfits with some of the major vintage online toy retailers!
